Destroy Municipal and Industrial Waste with this Converter System
The Plasma Converter System safely and economically destroys wastes, no matter how hazardous or lethal, and turns them into useful and valuable products. Employing proprietary plasma equipment, the system provides closed-loop elemental recycling to safely and irreversibly destroy municipal solid waste, organics and inorganics, solids, liquids and gases, hazardous and non- hazardous waste. Some of this waste is then converted into useful commodity products, including a synthesis-gas called Plasma Converted Gas (PCG), which can be used, for example, to produce alternative fuels, such as ethanol and other alcohol fuels.

Use this Sorbent Process and Ferric Oxide Media to Reduce Arsenic Levels
The SORB 33 arsenic removal process and Bayoxide E33 ferric oxide media work in concert to effectively and economically meet the stringent U.S. government standard of 10 parts per billion (ppb) of maximum arsenic content in water. Bayoxide E33 is a dry, robust media with a high capacity for arsenic, providing long operating cycles and low operating costs. Bayoxide E33 is permitted for use by health and environmental agencies in 18 states.

Get Environmental Data Online and on Demand
When law firms and corporations have to conduct environmental research for due diligence in the acquisition of new assets, new construction projects, environmental audits, background research for litigation and, increasingly, for compliance purposes and environmental financial reporting, these firms would manually search relevant local databases, which has traditionally been a time-intensive, inexact and costly process. OnDemand is an online, subscription service that allows realtime aggregation and access to environmental information from more than 800 federal, state, local and tribal sources. Subscribers pay an annual fee to secure unlimited access to research. Through an easy-to-use, Web-based application, users can perform the research they need from any location with Internet access.

A Mobile Water-Filtration System Solves Big Problems
With a total surface area of 242 ft2, the Horizontal Filtration Trailer (HFT) for temporary water treatment boasts the highest capacity flowrate of any single trailer on the market today. This trailer-mounted system provides high-quality effluent at flowrates up to 1,600 gal/min for general filtration. For pretreating reverse osmosis feedwater, the HFT can produce flows up to 1,200 gal/min. The system can be loaded with filter media, carbon or specialized resin, depending on the application and the customer’s specific requirements. Suitable for municipal and industrial applications, HFT has potential in applications where high-flow reverse osmosis systems require pretreatment to prevent membrane fouling, reduced membrane life and inconsistent flow or water quality.

Scrub Tiny Dust Particles from High-Temperature Gas Streams
This Venturi scrubber efficiently removes submicron dust particles from gases with temperatures up to 230ºC (450ºF) at the inlet. A quencher added to the inlet accommodates higher-temperature gas streams. The scrubbing liquid is introduced through open pipes — not nozzles — into the Venturi throat. This route ensures uniform liquid distribution, eliminating wet-dry line buildup in the fully wetted section. Dust-laden gas and scrubbing liquid collide in the throat, dispersing the liquid into drops on which the particles impact and become trapped. An optional adjustable throat allows flexible operation with varying flow rates or dust concentrations. An entrainment separator efficiently removes droplets from the gas stream. An integral recycle tank is optional. The outlet may be either vertical or horizontal.

A Tool to Help Colleges Improve Environmental Compliance
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is establishing a compliance assistance center to help colleges and universities understand and comply with environmental laws. Harnessing the power of the Internet, this center will provide tools and information for improving environmental management on campuses. It will also offer a virtual campus tour online that will enable users to quickly and easily target priority issues. Like many corporations and manufacturing plants, colleges and universities maintain many types of operations, including laboratories, utility generation and transmission plants, food-processing operations and water-distribution systems. Similarly, they face a range of environmental management challenges.
