pH Neutralization System
A customized spent-chemical pH-neutralization system for handling corrosive waste streams at a petrochemical plant in China is described in Technical Bulletin TL-173. The brochure explains the reasons for specifying thermoplastics for the treatment tank (polypropylene), pumps (polypropylene), and pipes and fittings (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, CPVC) in this packaged system, rather than the stainless steels and exotic alloys originally considered.
