Macromolecular Characterization is this GPC/SEC System’s Specialty

Designed for macromolecular characterization, the Triple Detector gel-permeation chromatography/size-exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC) system features an integrated triple detector array (TDA) comprised of a unique low-angle light-scattering (LALS) detector, four capillary viscometer detectors; a GPCmax pump, autosampler and degasser module; and OmniSEC software for multiple detection analysis and complete system control. In a single GPC/SEC experiment, this system can provide absolute molecular weight without the column calibration, extrapolations or corrections required by other techniques. It can also determine molecular size (to less than 1 nm), intrinsic viscosity, as well as information on structure, conformation, branching, aggregation and copolymer composition.

Hermetically Sealed Position Sensors Operate in Corrosive Environments

Enclosed in a heavy-wall, stainless steel housing, the HSE/HSER 750 Series of 3/4-in.-dia. DC-operated linear-variable-displacement transducers (LVDTs) are impervious to dirt, water, steam and other corrosive elements. The units are ideal for use in hydraulic-cylinder positioning, valve-position sensing, automatic assembly equipment and other industrial applications with hostile conditions. Incorporating built-in electronics, the sensors provide the desirable features of an AC-LVDT, such as frictionless operation and dynamic response, with the simplicity of DC input and pre-calibrated DC output. Units operate in conjunction with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), digital indicators, computer-based data processors and quality-control (QC) data collection systems. Available in ranges from 0.100 in. to 20.00 in., the LVDTs feature high resolution, a repeatability error of less than ±0.01% of full-scale output (FSO), and a hysteresis error of less than ±0.01% of FSO. The standard maximum linearity error is ±0.25% of FSO. The units operate at temperatures from 0°F to 160°F and pressures up to 1,000 psi.

Get True Particle-Size Measurements with this Analyzer

Ideal for characterizing spherical, irregularly shaped and acicular (needle-like) fiber particles, agglomerations, or mixtures, the family of EyeTech particle-size and image analyzers has a size channel that employs a unique laser obscuration method that yields direct and true single-particle-size measurements. It also has an image-analysis channel that uses dynamic and/or static methods. Accurate and easy to set up, the units feature: size ranges of 0.1–3,600 µm; dynamic range of 600:1; and a high resolution of 0.33% of full scale (min. 0.2 µm). The laser channel does not assume sphericity and is not subject to effects of optical and physical properties of particles or medium (such as refractive indices, absorption, surface texture, porosity, electrical conductivity, viscosity variations, Brownian motion and thermal convection). Particles can be seen real time during measurements.

Magnetically Coupled Valve Reduces Environmental Contamination

The Roetelmann ball valve is actuated through a sealed canister by means of a magnetic coupling and utilizes a non-contact electromagnetic sensor to provide positive indication of the ball position. The valve’s design eliminates the potential of hazardous release by encapsulating the stem and seals in a welded canister — should the seals fail, the medium cannot escape to the atmosphere. The valves are offered in a variety of construction and seal materials to meet customer requirements. Welded- or flanged-end connections, locking devices to meet OSHA requirements, and actuators are available.

Durable Butterfly Valve Features Low Pressure Drop

Available in a size range from 3 in. to 30 in., and with high-flow capacities as a major priority, the AZURE AWWA butterfly valves are designed to the ANSI/AWWA C504 butterfly valve standard. Their concentric high-strength ductile-iron disc with stainless-steel edge seating provides minimal pressure drop with low turbulence. The 24-in. and smaller designs utilize a lens-shaped disc that provides the smallest protrusion possible in the flow stream. The valve seat is simultaneously bonded and vulcanized to the valve body. The entire interior waterway of the valve body is rubber-lined to prevent corrosion and extend service life. On 30-in. and larger valves, the seat is adjustable and replaceable in the field without the use of special tools.

Radial-Flow Membrane Contactor is Well-Suited for Degassing and Debubbling

The 2 × 6 SuperPhobic radial-flow membrane contactor is an all-polyolefin degassing device that is resistant to many aggressive ink and coating solutions and various solvents. It is small and compact and provides inline degassing and debubbling of low-surface-tension solutions. The contactor uses a radial flow path through the contactor to maximize the surface area and optimize degassing efficiency. Hollow-fiber membrane is knit into a fabric array and wound around a central distribution tube. Liquid flows through the distribution tube, which is parallel to the hollow-fiber membrane. The liquid is forced radially over the membrane and exits the contactor through a side port in the housing. With 5.4 ft2 of membrane area, the contactor and one device can process up to 1 L/min of liquid. Larger contactors are also available for degassing higher volumes.

Lowest-KR-Rated Disk Offers Highest Protection

Pressure relief systems have the lowest pressure drop and the highest flow when the rupture disk with the lowest KR (a rating given by ASME) is used. The Pro+ rupture disk has earned the lowest currently registered KR rating for a reverse-buckling disk family, 0.29, making it one of the most effective pressure relief devices on the market and earning it a UD ASME authorized stamp. The disk’s 95% operating ratio guards against fatigue and premature disk rupture in applications with high operating-to-set ratios. Burst pressures from 8 to 750 psig ensure consistent performance in a wide range of uses from high- to low-pressure environments, with long service life even in high-cycling applications. The one-piece design is scored on the vent side to prevent product buildup.

Filter Media Has Double the Service Life and Half the Pressure Drop

The HemiPleat high-efficiency (HE) filter offers an unsurpassed minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) 15 rating, coupled with up to twice the service life and half the pressure drop of standard dust collector cartridge filters. Available in filter sizes to fit any cartridge collector, the HemiPleat HE media is ideal for the capture of toxic and other ultra-fine dusts, and for applications where process air is recirculated downstream of the collector for energy savings. The filter combines the HemiPleat technology with an HE synthetic fine-fiber media that yields a filtration efficiency of 99.999% for 0.5-mm particles and larger. A patent-pending design holds the pleats of the filter open, making virtually all the media surface available for filtration. The wide, uniform spacing results in lower pressure drop for more efficient performance. This design allows dust to eject readily from deep within the pleats during pulse cleaning.
