High Capacity Conveyors Lower Operating Costs
The DPG-B Series gravity-loaded bottom-discharge dense-phase conveyors are ideal for moving powdered, granular, or pelletized friable and abrasive materials. They are rated up to 100+ ton/h and provide high material-to-air ratios and extremely low line velocities, resulting in smaller line sizes, lower air consumption, reduced dust collection, and lower capital investment and operating costs. Abrasive wear and particle degradation are also minimized. Programmable controls (PLCs) offer reduced supervision for automated operation.

Automated Wafer Surface Analyzer
The fully automated Pioneer 300 is specifically designed for use in 300-mm semiconductor wafer processing. It provides quick and accurate contact angle/surface energy measurements of the wafer surface for adhesion, cleanliness and surface treatments. The system is designed to prevent particulate formation or contamination. It can be used to monitor the ultra-clean surface processing of silicon wafers. The position of the sample stage is computer-controlled and can be precisely adjusted along the x-, y- or z-axis. The user can easily control the position of the stage to allow for wafer surface mapping. The instrument uses a micro-pump controlled by a PC for precise and repeatable liquid drop formation and application. This insures that a reproducible drop volume is applied to the surface.

Multiple Detection System Characterizes Various Polymers and Proteins
The Tetra Detector Array is ideal for the characterization of natural and synthetic polymers, biopolymers and proteins. It consists of a patent-pending Low-Angle Light-Scattering (LALS) detector, four capillary viscometer detectors, patent-pending refractometer and selectable wavelength UV/VIS. All the detectors, as well as the GPC columns, are contained within a heated oven compartment with temperature control to 80°C, which means the sample is not exposed to variations in temperature. The integration and unique, proprietary arrangement of detectors (UV-LS-RI-VISC) insures minimal inter-detector volumes and reduced band-broadening, as well as eliminates the dilution effect and viscometer breakthrough experienced when the RI is placed last in the series. In a single GPC/SEC experiment, absolute molecular weight, molecular size (to less than 1 nm), and intrinsic viscosity, as well as information on branching, conformation, aggregation and copolymer composition can be obtained.

Oil Evaporator Measures Moisture in Difficult Samples
The AquaCounter EV-2000L oil evaporator utilizes azeotropic distillation and completely separates water from sample matrices, thus eliminating any side reactions with interfering substances. The unit is especially useful for determining moisture in difficult samples such as heavy oils, grease, peanut butter, etc. The EV-2000L’s heating range is from ambient temperature to 200°C. Carrier gas is N2 gas or dry air and flow is 30–300 mL/min with inlet pressure at 0.8 MPa or less. The dessicant used is a molecular sieve and the unit has an aluminum block heater. Sample volume is approximately 10 mL or less. Height and weight is 220 (W) × 340 (D) × 265 (H) mm and about 7 kg. A wide variety of sampling devices are also available.

Gas Flowmeter Improves Boiler Efficiency
Designed for use in natural-gas-flow measurement applications, the Boiler-Trak mass flowmeter is easy to install or retrofit into existing piping. It provides the mass flowrate and totalized flow (200 ms response to changes in flowrate) of the natural gas burned. The versatile microprocessor-based transmitter integrates the functions of flow-range adjustment, meter validation and diagnostics in a probe-mounted NEMA 4X (IP65) housing. Mass flowrate and totalized flow, as well as other configuration variables, can be displayed on the meter’s optional 2 × 12 backlit LCD panel. The Boiler-Trak also provides an optical/galvanic isolated 4–20-mA output, two alarm outputs and one contact input for range or gas selection. The meter is suitable for pipes or ducts from 1.25 in. to 6 in.

Valve Receives Class I, Div. 2 Approval for Hazardous Applications
The RedHat Next Generation line of solenoid valves is now available with Class I, Div. 2 approval. The certification makes the valves ideal for use in hazardous locations and for watertight applications. In addition, the valves meet all NEMA Types 1 through 4X requirements for water-tight and dust-tight operation. With new power management technology and robust advanced electronics, the valve accepts both AC and DC voltages, while improving performance. Its 2-W power consumption achieves the same performance as a 17-W AC solenoid valve. DC performance has been increased by 150% to 500% from today’s industry standards, making the valves’ DC characteristics equivalent to AC pressure and flow values. The valves are offered in three voltage ranges covering most electrical requirements — 100–240/AC or DC, 24–99/AC or DC, or 12–24/DC and include 2-, 3-, and 4-way models for use in most fluid control applications.

Canned Motor Pump Can Handle the Heat
The Type HX high-temperature non-seal canned motor pump is designed for hot fluids (maximum 662ºF, 350ºC) without cooling. The pump uses an exclusive all-ceramic motor insulation system and can be externally insulated for maximum system thermal efficiency, making it ideal for heat-transfer oil services. Optional jacketing in conjunction with the ceramic motor insulation system makes the HX well suited for handling high-melting-point liquids (above 284ºF, 40ºC), which would exceed the temperature limits of normal organic motor insulation materials. For further safety and efficiency, an inbuilt Nikkiso E Monitor bearing monitor system helps to detect bearing wear. When bearing wear occurs, the rotor assembly shifts along the radial and/or axial position. Eight embedded search coils in the stator enable precise readings of bearing wear in both directions. Real-time status can be conveniently monitored on an LED display built into the Type HX.
