Ball Valve Comes in Many Materials and Sizes
The Type 375 true union ball valve features an ergonomically designed grooved handle and notched union nut that make for easy gripping during installation and use. Its floating ball design provides leakproof closure, and the full cross-section results in minimal pressure loss. Available in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated PVC (CPVC) and natural polypropylene (PP-n), the valve exhibits excellent chemical and corrosion resistance, and is pressure-rated to 225 psi at 73°F. The PVC/CPVC models range in size from 3/8 in. to 6 in. with threaded and socket end connectors (1/2–2 in.), and the PPn sizes are 20 mm to 90 mm (metric socket) with 1/2–2-in. NPT connections. In PVC, the valve meets 12454-B per ASTM D 1784 standards; in CPVC, it meets 233447B per ASTM D 1784.

Butterfly Valve Incorporates Four Design Upgrades
New design features of the Type 57 butterfly valve include a flange stopper, which prevents overcompression in the valve liner, and a molded body absorption channel. These features work together to eliminate seat compression from effective stem torque, resulting in higher cycle life. A spherical disc provides increased flow characteristics and is less intrusive to piping systems. And, the valve is produced with the first all-plastic gear operator, Plasgear, which is standard on 8-in. through 14-in. models and an option on other sizes. Made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polypropylene or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), it is available in sizes from 1-1/2 in. to 14 in.

Actuator Simplifies Automation of Rotary Valves
The heart of the CINTAC Advanced Automation System is a rugged, field-proven rack-and-pinion actuator with ISO 5211 interface for compatibility with any quarter-turn valve. Position sensing is done by a contact-free magnetic resistive sensor with no mechanical parts or connections to wear out or bind. The unit is completely sealed and protected from corrosion and short-circuiting due to moisture. Leak-free integral air porting further improves the unit’s reliability by eliminating crimping or bending of tubing, leaking fittings, and worn or broken hoses. The CINTAC system operates at temperatures ranging from –4°F to 150°F (a low-temperature option to –40°F is also available), and pressures to 120 psi. It is available as non-incendive for general purpose and Class I and II, Div. 2 applications; explosionproof for Class I and II, Div. 1 and 2 areas; or instrinsically safe for Class I and II, Div. 1 and 2 areas using IS wiring.

Ball Valves Come in Pneumatic- or Electric-Actuated Versions
These ball valve packages combine three elements — the valve, an actuator designed to meet the torque requirements of the valve, and a mounting system that assures alignment and rigidity. The pneumatic actuators on the BVP80 and BVP70 models offer the latest technology for pneumatically actuating BV80 Series ball valves with NPT threads and BV70 Series with compression fittings. Spring-return models requiring only 50-psi supply air that can spring to open or closed without loss of output torque from the air-operated side are available. The electric actuators on the BVE80 and BVE70 models feature two 1/2-in. NPT conduit ports and integral thermal-overload protection. The Series’ compact size and light-weight construction features standard in-line or cross-mount valve-to-actuator configurations. Standard materials of construction are stainless steel external trim and Viton O-rings.
