Manual Dumping Station Collects Dust to Reduce Waste and Eliminate Contamination
This dumping station for pneumatic conveying systems collects dust during manual dumping of powder and bulk solids from bags, boxes, drums and other containers. The hopper is configured with a non-flow-through adapter for introducing material into vacuum pneumatic conveyor lines, or with rotary airlock valves or outlets for connection to flexible screw conveyors, other conveyors or process equipment. The unit features a high-velocity vacuum fan that draws airborne dust from the operator’s atmosphere onto two cartridge filters. Automatic reverse-pulse filter cleaning allows continuous operation. The station is mounted on frames with a boom and casters for mobility, and is constructed from carbon steel with an industrial finish, or stainless steel finished to industrial, food, dairy or pharmaceutical standards.

Rotary Paddle Bin-Level Indicator Has a Small Footprint
The RotaryPoint is a rugged, small-footprint device designed for measuring the level of dry bulk solids in hoppers, silos, bins and tanks. It handles materials with densities of 10 lb/ft3 or more, including plastic pellets and even high-density aggregates like limestone. The device has no screws or fasteners to hinder access; instead, a twist-on cover provides quick access to wiring. It can be mounted on the top of bins, or on the side to indicate high, intermediate or low levels. Stainless steel mounting plates are standard, allowing the device to be used as a drop-in replacement for most other paddle switches.

System Meters and Hydrates Dry Polymer for Wastewater Treatment
The dynaJET dry polymer preparation system utilizes a blower-assisted conveyance package to atomize and transport dry polymer to a tank-mounted hydration chamber. Within the unit’s transparent hydration chamber, the atomized polymer is completely engulfed in a shower spray of water to fully wet the individual particles. The system is offered in a variety of sizes and capacities, with a variety of hopper designs and polymer delivery and storage configurations to match specific process requirements.

Blinding Control System Increases Screening Accuracy of Sticky, Fine Powders
The Ultrasonex blinding control system reduces blinding and bridging in a screener handling difficult or sticky materials, such as metal powders, paints and coatings, pharmaceuticals, plastic resins, toners, foods and various chemicals. It uses a transducer probe to apply ultrasonic vibration directly to the screening mesh. This vibration is in addition to the screener’s vibratory motion, providing a secondary, high-frequency low-amplitude vibration that reduces mesh blinding, reduces screen tension, and improves screener performance. Its fully detachable ultrasonic probe incorporates a titanium core for high durability that eliminates wear on contact surfaces. It is available on new screeners and can be retrofitted to existing units.

Cutter Shreds Abrasive Materials into Particles in Narrow Size Ranges with Minimum Fines
The Maxum 30 can shred 1,6000-lb blocks of abrasive materials, such as alumina oxide composites, asphalt and resins. Blocks as large as 2 ft by 2 ft by 6 ft can be reduced to particles within narrow size ranges determined by the diameter of bed-screen perforations, which can range from 1/32 in. to 1-1/2 in. Each of two rotors has a staggered array of specially treated solid carbide conical tips. Two 14-in-dia. counter-rotating shafts rotate at 25–35 rpm, producing up to 240 ft3/h of sized product.

Control System Provides Feeder Flexibility
Like its predecessors in the SmartConnex line of feeder controls, the new K-Tron Control Module (KCM) integrates the control and motor drive modules directly on the feeder. It can function as either a volumetric or gravimetric feeder controller, and supports all of the firm’s feeders that are equipped with SFT II or SFT III load cells, including volumetric feeders, loss-in-weight feeders, weigh-belt feeders, smart flowmeters and PID applications. The KCM modulate screw speed usng a unique algorithm that can improve the short-term feeder accuracy on single-screw feeders by up to a factor of two. Non-uniform feeding caused by normal pulsation from the screw is compensated for by varying the screw speed to eliminate pulsations.
