Solids Handling Unique Impeller Design Results in Homogeneous Mixtures

Utilizing a unique impeller design, the Clean Sweep mixer provides excellent top-to-bottom motion, as well as global movement at tank walls — even when center-mounted on a cylindrical vessel without the use of internal baffles. These specially shaped blades have been designed to produce thorough mixing throughout the entire vessel, yielding a homogenous mix and providing good off-bottom suspension of many various materials. The impeller technology, containing two slightly downward- curved blades vertically mounted to the impeller hub, prevents build-up on horizontal surfaces, ensuring that components can be easily cleaned. The Clean Sweep is ideal for low-shear, high-purity sanitary mixing applications and easily accommodates mixing at low liquid levels.

Half-Frame Bulk Bag Unloader Offers Total Dust Containment

The Half Frame Bulk Bag Unloader offers economical, total dust containment by eliminating the upper-frame components to lift and/or position the bag, instead relying on the user’s forklift or plant hoist to suspend the bag above the unit during operation. The bag-to-hopper interface consists of a Spout-Lock clamp ring positioned atop a pneumatically actuated Tele-Tube telescoping tube, allowing dust-tight connections and unrestricted flow between the bag spout and hopper, as well as automatic tensioning of the bag as it empties. The unit’s discharger is equipped with Flow-Flexer bag activators that raise and lower the opposite bottom edges of the bag at timed intervals, loosening compacted materials and promoting material flow into the bag discharge spout.

Sanitary Batch Sifter Handles Dry Bulk Materials and Solids-Laden Slurries

Meeting cGMP, 3-A, USDA and FDA standards, the Vibroscreen Sanitary Batch sifter can be disassembled without tools for rapid sanitizing. It is intended to scalp oversize particles as small as 38 µm (400 mesh) from dry bulk materials or solids-laden slurries. The screen frame’s interlocking flange fully envelops the support ring of the screen, eliminating the gap between the screen ring and frame wall. Screens are mounted to support rings using FDA-approved epoxy and sealed using FDA-approved gasket material, and can be provided with a mesh-tolerance certificate. The wire-mesh screening material is offered in 304-, 316- and magnetic 400-series stainless steel. The sifters are offered in diameters of 18, 24 and 30 in. (450, 610 and 750 mm), and can be equipped with either single or twin imbalanced-weight gyratory motors.

Coarse Granular Materials are No Problem for this

Mass Flow Feeder The Pebco Mass Flow Feeder is a controllable high-capacity gravity feeder for relatively coarse granular materials. The feeder consists of a mass flow hopper with two movable sides that control the discharge rate. The flowrate is a function of the discharge opening width and the slope of the blades. The minimum flowrate is limited by the opening width at which the material arches across the opening. Turndown rates of 10 to 1 can normally be expected. The units generally handle flowrates from a single discharge point from 1,000 ton/h to 10,000 ton/h.

Centrifugal Sifter Provides High-Capacity Screening for Larger Process Applications

Designed to meet high-capacity sifting for bulk load-in/load-out and larger process applications, the Rotex Centrifugal Sifter can handle a wide variety of powders, granules, agglomerates and other free-flowing materials. Processed particles ranging in size from 1⁄4 in. to 44 μm (325 mesh) are scalped with ease. The combination of high centrifugal force and blade spreading action reduces binding problems, even when handling materials that tend to flake or agglomerate due to fat or moisture content. The spreading action of the sifter’s rotating blades distributes product around the sieve cylinder for complete utilization of screen area and conveys oversize particles to discharge. Accelerated particles impinging against the sieve cause it to vibrate and clean itself. Because it is totally enclosed, the sifter is not subject to dust problems. ROTEX Inc.

Magnetic-Drive Pumps Handle Tough Applications

Engineered to meet the most severe industrial applications, the MX pumps are said to be the first injectionmolded resin magnetic-drive pumps that use a split-volute casing forming a vortex chamber. The volute design limits the hydraulic loss in the casing, resulting in increased overall pump efficiencies. The MX pump is also designed for tough applications. MX front casings incorporate reinforcement ribs extending from the periphery of the casing to the suction nozzle, reducing potential for deflection of the front casing from piping misalignment. Ribs are also used on the rear casing resulting in enhanced pressure retaining capability.

Chemical Reactors Perform Under Pressure

The HPR series reactors have been designed for researchers who are interested in performing pressurized chemical reactions in their laboratories — whether highpressure chemical synthesis or process development. The reactors range in size from 50 mL to 8 L, and may be operated up to 10,000 psi and 350°C. The reactors have a magnetically coupled impeller for optimal mixing. All high-pressure components are ASME-rated and protected by a rupture disc for safe operations. These laboratory benchtop models are ideal for applications where repetitive use makes convenience a necessity, such as catalytic studies, polymerization, hydrogenation, oxidation, isomerization and dehydrogenation. All sizes are supplied as ready-to-use instruments requiring only utility connections prior to operation. The reactors are compact instruments that fit easily into a fume hood. Their modular design makes it easy and cost effective to alter the unit’s basic configuration, adapting it to meet new or evolving application needs.
