Silicone Tubing is Designed for Biopharmaceutical Applications

PumpSil, a platinum-cured silicone tubing with an ultra-smooth bore to control protein binding and bacterial growth, is postcured to minimize leachables and extractables. To ensure absolute traceability, it can be laser-marked end-to-end with part and lot numbers and use-by date. A 100% indelible fine etch is produced on the surface of the tube, preventing contamination from inks and other materials. PumpSil meets USP Class VI, ISO 10993 and USDA requirements, and is available in standard and custom sizes from 50-ft boxes to 500-ft spools, with custom-molded assemblies and manifolds.

Jet Caps Minimize Pressure Loss During Air Discharge

These newly designed jet caps are available in galvanized or stainless steel in sizes from 3-in. to 32-in. diameters. The design has been optimized for improved air discharge with a minimum pressure loss and to prevent rain/water from entering the tubing system. Water is forced into a drip tube discharging out of the jet cap. The caps can be adapted to virtually any tubing system.

PVC and CPVC Piping Now Comes in Larger Diameters

This line of Schedule 80 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pressure piping has been expanded to include 20-ft lengths of largediameter — 10-in. and 12-in. pipe. Fittings are supplied in a combination of fabricated and molded styles that include a wide range of couplings, bends, wyes, pipe increasers, reducing wyes, expansion joints, brass inert fittings and saddles. The PVC and CPVC systems are resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols and other corrosives, and they will not rust, scale or pit. The PVC has a temperature rating up to 140°F, the CPVC to 210°F. Their light weight makes installation faster, easier, and less expensive than steel alloy or lined steel.

Instrument Tube Fittings Provide Leak-Proof and Torque-Free Sealing

These double-ferrule instrumentation-grade tube fittings reduce the chance of hazardous and expensive leaks in instrumentation, process, pneumatic, hydraulic, gas and other tubing systems. Each fitting consists of a nut, a back ferrule, a front ferrule, and a body, and when installed with the tubing, becomes a five-piece connection with a solid leak-free joint. The two ferrules are tightly swaged around the tube and the lack of initial strain on the tubing ensures against tube wall damage. Leaks are prevented because there is axial movement along the tube instead of rotary motion creating a joint. This axial movement prevents torque from being transmitted from the fitting to the tubing.
