Filter Backwashes Continuously, Eliminating Downtime

The Centra-flo Upflow Filter can be used in virtually any application requiring the removal of suspended solids. It combines an upflow design with deepbed sand filtration and continuous cleaning to achieve high-quality filtrate with consistently low head loss at varying flow rates. The upflow filter provides a continuous supply of filtered water without interruption for backwash cleaning, making it unnecessary to shut down for backwashing. In addition, the continuous backwash design provides a steady reject stream that eliminates backwash hydraulic surges. The Centra-flo is available in sizes ranging from 10 gal/min to 10,000 gal/min throughput.

Filters Withstand Harsh Environments

As their name indicates, the SS Harsh Environment Coalescing Filters are constructed of stainless steel (Type 304) and can be used under harsh conditions. They remove 99.99% of oil, water, rust and pipescale particles as small as 0.01 µm in size from compressed air and other gases. The filters are available in 1/4-in. to 1-in. line sizes with flow capacities to over 700 std. ft3/min. They come with automatic drains and a high-efficiency filter cartridge installed.

Filters Withstand Harsh Environments

The automatic, incrementally rotating Roto-Pulse uniformly cleans 30–40% more filter surface than conventional reverse-pulse systems. The additional area of clean media means a lower air-to-cloth ratio requirement, lower grain loading, more-efficient filter cleaning, and longer filter life. The system operates by pulsing air into a specially designed stainless steel perforated tube. As the air enters, the tube rotates a specified number of degrees, distributing the pulse of air across the length of the cartridge’s inside surface and dislodging clogged dirt from the outside of the cartridge. The number of increments per revolution can be adjusted, as can the time between pulses, for maximum flexibility. It runs up to 15 dBA quieter and uses less compressed air than reverse-pulse systems.

Inlet Diffuser Improves Tower Performance

The Uniflo inlet diffuser corrects flow imbalances and improves gas distribution in new or existing separators and distillation towers. It removes liquids and solids from the gas stream, dissipates high inlet gas velocities, and evenly distributes the gas in the vessel, eliminating channeling problems and re-entrainment of the liquid droplets in the mist eliminator. It also prevents gas from jetting into the liquid and the associated entrainment problems. It can be designed for vertical or horizontal separators and is available in a variety of alloys. To simplify installation, it can be made in sections.

Screener Can Be Retrofitted With Drying, Cooling and/or Dedusting Capabilities

A modular design allows the addition of a vibrating fluid-bed dryer, cooler and deduster to the Witte 300 screener, even years after the original equipment was installed. Combining multiple functions in a compact, quickconnect/ disconnect unit saves floor and overhead space and allows the unit to be moved among multiple production lines. Because the screener can be retrofit to handle additional functions, processing capabilities can be expanded without replacing the screener or buying a separate dryer or cooler. Designed for screening nylon, polyethylene, polystyrene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyesters, polyurethanes, and other commodity and engineering resins, it air-screens to –20 mesh fines, ensuring virtually complete removal of ribbons, streamers and angel hairs.

Oil Recovery System Continuously Removes Waste Oil

The Model 6V employs a specially formulated collector tube that skims oil from the surface of water. The oil adheres to the outside of the closed-loop tube, which is slowly drawn across the surface of the water and into the skimmer. Scrapers remove the oil, which accumulates in a collection chamber. The clean tube then returns to the water to skim more oil. The tube automatically adjusts to varying water levels and is flexible enough to wind over and around floating debris. The system can skim up to 100 gal/h, and is designed to operate 24/7.
