Is data available in the PERD Database?
CCPS has populated the database with spring operated relief valve proof test data. It contains in excess of 2,000 relief valve inventory records and over 5,000 proof test event records.
Standard membership includes an initial fee of $16,000 plus an additional $5,000 per year annual dues (i.e. operating fee). Payment can be stretched out so that the maximum payment in any single year does not exceed $9,500. There is a subscriber class of membership ($5,000/yr) that provides full access to technical information developed, but no software or data access.
What is the value of the membership?
Companies are using the technical information developed by PERD to improve and gain value from in-house information management systems that deal with equipment data. There has been significant benefit without ever using the PERD software.
The technical information from the product allows people to better refine existing systems and develop new systems. The project effectively performs the up-front engineering that is all too often sacrificed and compromised when a company works alone and hands over the keys to the IT department. The software is beginning to be used to aggregate data from multiple companies for analysis.
As this initiative proceeds, it will increasingly provide:
- Ability to quantify risks and measure the reliability and availability of plants, systems, and equipment
- Ability to benchmark plant performance internally and externally
- Enable improved maintenance optimization
- Support of risk based maintenance planning
- Insight for improvement in the design of new systems/equipment
- Support optimization of life cycle costs
- A foundation for the improvement of existing data management systems
PERD members are realizing many interim benefits:
- Identifying and correcting data collection flaws in their Mechanical Integrity programs
- Sharing and leveraging the engineering needed to achieve desired results
- Developing sound foundations for upgrade of their mechanical integrity programs based upon work accomplished
