Kazutoshi Fujimura Award for Lifetime Achievement

Winner(s):

2005 John J. Mooney

Sponsor(s):

Hyperion Catalysis International and Bioveris, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Description:

This award recognizes the work of an individual in helping to develop and propagate new technology internationally. The individual should have played a prominent role for many years in identifying, developing and introducing new chemical engineering technologies to the international market place. The award is not intended to honor a single event but instead to recognize the lifetime achievement of an individual in international chemical engineering development. The Fujimura Award is overseen by AIChE’s Management Division. A selection committee consisting of representatives of the three international chemical engineering confederations and Dr. Norman Li, the first recipient, plus Management Division representatives and AIChE staff will make the final selection.

This second Fujimura Award was sponsored by Hyperion Catalysis International and Bioveris, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, and consisted of a commemorative plaque and $10,000, which was presented during the 7th World Congress of Chemical Engineering in Glasgow, Scotland in July 2005. The first Fujimura Award was presented to Dr. Norman Li at the 6th WCCE in Melbourne, Australia in 2001.
